The Bachelor Australia’s Epic And Emotional Grand Finale.

The Bachelor Australia’s Epic And Emotional Grand Finale.

In tonight’s dramatic season finale of The Bachelor Australia, Nick “The Honey Badger” Cummins, introduced Britt and Sophie to his family. With New Caledonia as a stunning backdrop, Nick planned one last date for each of the ladies before facing the biggest decision of his life.

As Nick, 30, embarked on the final stages of his epic adventure, he was happy to be reunited with his father Mark, sister Bernadette and two brothers Luke and Jacob. While excited to meet Brittany and Sophie, the family were shocked to discover that Brooke was not a finalist.

Brittany and Sophie were understandably nervous, but both impressed Nick’s loved ones in their own individual way. Brittany, 30, a radiographer from New South Wales was the first to meet the family, and slotted in comfortably with the Cummin’s laid-back and humorous nature.

Pulling Brittany aside, Bernadette learnt that she was eager to settle down and have children. Although she admired and respected Britt’s openness, she was unsure if Nick shared the same life plan.

Talking to Brittany and his family, Nick surprised her by saying he was still uncertain of which girl to choose.

Sophie, 25, a property valuer from Queensland, met the family next and they could instantly see that she brought out Nick’s young and playful side.

Wanting to see if there was more to Sophie then meets the eye, Luke pulled her aside for a one-on-one grilling. Asking her the tough questions, Sophie got emotional when asked if she was in love with Nick. Luke admired and respected Sophie’s raw emotion.

While Mark, Luke and Jacob gave both girls the tick of approval, protective older sister Bernadette questioned whether either girl was the complete package for Nick.

Nick’s final date with Sophie saw them reliving their love for the water. Jet skiing brought out Nicks youthful happiness and  he loved how all of his worries melted away when he was with Sophie.

Later, Sophie expressed her fear of opening up only to be hurt. Throwing caution to the wind, she made it clear to Nick that she was falling in love with him.

A new day saw Nick pick up Brittany via a helicopter and show her the sights of New Caledonia from the air. Back on solid ground, the pair headed to a treehouse where Brittany expressed that she had fallen head over heels in love with Nick.

Their conversation took a surprising turn when Nick said that while he thought she was the full package, he felt their timelines were different.  After an incredible journey and with two incredible women to choose from, Nick stood there on the final day knowing he had to follow his heart.

As Sophie stood before him, Nick explained how much he had enjoyed spending time with her and that she brought out something he hadn’t felt in a long time. While he liked her a lot, he wanted the words “I love you” to really mean it and he was unable to wholeheartedly commit to her.

As she drove away with tears in her eyes, Sophie longed for a better explanation from Nick but knew what he had with Brittany was amazing.

On not being chosen Sophie said: “As much as I am hurting right now, I am really happy for her at the same time. It sounds mad but if it’s not me, then I would hope it was someone like Britt”.

A confident Brittany stepped out of the limo to face Nick next. Nick told her he had developed strong feelings for her and knew she was ready for that perfect partnership.

Unfortunately like with Sophie, he couldn’t give 100% of himself to her and their journey would need to come to an end.

In the car, Brittany was feeling a mix of emotions. Frustrated that her time had been wasted but upset because her feelings were real, it soon became clear to her that Nick had picked no-one.

Reunited at the hotel, Sophie was emotional to see her best friend Brittany stroll in. When it was revealed he hadn’t chosen anyone, Sophie struggled to comprehend why he had put them both through the experience and not been willing to at least give it a go on the outside world.

On his decision, Nick said: “I hate hurting people and I have done that twice today. I just know in my heart that I did the right thing. They are two amazing women and they’re walking out of my life right now. It wouldn’t be fair to enter into  something that a few months down the track could break her heart”.

He further went onto say: “I came here for a chance at love and now I’m going to have to start again. She’s out there!”
