An early favourite to be the last woman standing in order to claim Nick’s heart, the 23-year old indigenous youth worker left Nick in shock when she decided to bow out of the competition before the bachelor even had the chance to deliver his final two roses.
Clearly struggling with her own emotions, Brooke put herself on the line right before the rose ceremony and with Nick unable to articulate his feelings about her she bravely walked away citing “I need a man to tell me what he wants and can tell me that’s me”.
Leading up Brooke’s fateful decision, Nick spent tonight’s episode of The Bachelor Australia having three unique dates where each girl could debrief on the previous week’s hometown visits.
First, Nick picked Sophie up in a white convertible Maserati where she relayed her family’s positive verdict of the Honey Badger, the affectionate conversation suddenly turned serious as Nick pulled up at a sky diving centre with a light aircraft ready to take off.
As the pair began their ascension and prepared to take the plunge in tandem sky dives, it was clear that Nick shared Sophie’s nerves. Lucky for both, a last minute safety precaution prevented them both from taking the plunge.
After they safely make it back on solid ground, Sophie took the chance to open herself up to Nick and tell him how much she feels they have in common.
Nick took a lighter approach for his date with Brittany, featuring a mountain of ice-cream and a picturesque walk to the top of a lighthouse. Brittany laid her heart on the line and told Nick she was “all in”, which meant the world to him.
Later that night in an undeniably romantic setting, Brittany confronts Nick again about his connection with Cass inferring that he’s been dishonest with her and the other girls in the house. Happy that the issue is now out in the open, the pair continue to further their relationship.
From the quaint to the sexy, Nick’s steamy date with Brooke involved transport via motorbike and the pair body painting wearing next to nothing under a rotunda.
The intimate activity lasted hours and, after the couple seemed very satisfied with their efforts they decided to wash off in steamy shower but not before some serious heavy petting.
Moments before the rose ceremony began and clearly struggling with her own emotions, Brooke put herself on the line with Nick for one last time. Citing past relationships that had left her feeling insecure, Brooke questioned Nick about where he saw their relationship heading. Not getting a solid answer, she knew that she needed to take control and make the difficult decision to go home.
On leaving Nick and the mansion, Brooke said: “It was really hard telling Nick that I wanted to go home tonight. From my first time on the red carpet meeting Nick to this rose ceremony, I have had such a good journey with Nick. As much as we have connected and have strong chemistry, I don’t think he can give me the reassurance that I need right now.”
