This new factual series takes viewers behind-the-scenes into the heart of Australia’s emergency services – the call centres that respond to 000 calls.
Across a 12-hour shift, we follow the unsung heroes – the call takers, who are the first point of call in an emergency and can often make the difference between life and death.
Call taker Julie from the Operations Centre of Brisbane’s Ambulance receives a call from a distressed young female to say that her friend has been stabbed and his stomach is hanging out. He’s suffered significant blood loss and is having trouble breathing.
Meanwhile, at ESTA 000’s ambulance call centre in Melbourne, a concerned man reports that his younger brother has threatened self-harm.
