Nine reveals NRl Coverage plans

The curtain rises on the NRL season and The Footy Show on Thursday, March 6 – followed by the return of The Sunday Footy Show three days later on March 9.

The NRL season blasts off LIVE on Thursday night (March 6) as the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Sydney Roosters, the 2013 Telstra Premiers, at ANZ Stadium.

Following the season opener is the first Friday night footy night clash of the year (March 7) with Ben Barba and his new team, the Brisbane Broncos, facing off against his old club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Ray Warren, the voice of rugby league, will be calling all the action again this season from the Nine Network commentary box. He’ll be joined by Peter Sterling, Phil Gould,Brad Fittler, Darren Lockyer, Ray Hadley, and Rugby League Immortals Andrew “Joey” Johns and Wally “The King” Lewis.

Cameron Williams and Yvonne Sampson will host Nine’s NRL coverage for the 2014 season.

Straight after the NRL season opener, The Footy Show returns for 2014 with Paul “Fatty” Vautin and the team celebrating their 21st year on television. Everyone’s favourite segments will be back including Beau Knows, Small Talk with the Big Marn – and who will get the treatment this year inThe Footy Show Multi Channel Network? Plus some new surprises and big announcements coming soon.
