One of The Simpsons most acclaimed voice artists has passed away over the weekend.
Marcia Wallace who provided the voice for Bart’s school teacher Mrs Krabappel who had battled breast cancer in the past, died from complications of the disease.
I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace,” mpsons executive producer Al Jean said in a statement. “She was beloved by all at The Simpsons and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character.”
Jean added that Mrs. Krabappel is not the character the series is planning to kill off later this season.
Wallace,had won an Emmy for voicing the cynical Springfield teacher.
