This story is best avoided if you haven’t seen the fourth episode of Wentworth’s 7TH season, Karen.
Wentworth is known for its surprising plot twists, but last night top dog Karen “Kaz’ Proctor (Tammy Macintosh) met her end in chilling scenes.
Over the last few weeks she has been targeted by new inmate Narelle Stang (Morgana O’Reilly). who learned Kaz was connected to the hit on her brother,and Rita Connors (Leah Purcell) was blackmailed into killing her after Narelle recognised Rita as a cop.
In the closing minutes, Kaz was grabbed from behind by a mystery assailant and her throat was slit. Kaz fell to the floor where she bled out and, in what we assume to be her final moment, traced an ‘M’ in the blood. The episode hinted at Rita’s sister, Ruby (Rarriwuy Hick) slashing her throat in a corridor to save Rita, but it all seems a little too simple.
We are left with three very big questions- Who slashed Kaz?, Who will be top dog now? And, more importantly, What does ‘M’ stand for- is it something or someone, like Marie (Susie Porter)?
