Val departs I’m a Celebrity

Veteran actor of stage and screen, Val Lehman, was the latest celebrity to leave the African jungle last night as finals week kicked off.

Five weeks ago, Val made a splash when she arrived via canoe, teamed with former AFL footballer Brendan Fevola. She became a force to be reckoned with in camp, with her nofuss attitude eventually lead to a role as Deputy Camp Leader, first for Shane Warne and then for Paul “The Chief” Harragon.

Even when she faced the toughest of trials, Val maintained her composure. In Creepy Callies, she did not blink an eye as her telephone booth filled with water, crocs, eels and snakes. In the huge team challenge Celeb Tug of War, Val took no prisoners when she swept Bonnie Lythgoe off her feet and over the dam.

Paired with Laurina Fleure for the Tucker Trial, Blind Date, Val stoically guided a blindfolded Laurina through a cave of creepy crawlies to a loot of seven stars out of a possible nine.

In her final Tucker Trial, A Dam Shame, Val did not show any sign of weakness. Crawling head-first into five dark and damp sewer pipes inside the dam wall, Val retrieved a maximum eight stars from the water-filled chamber, all while dodging an assortment of animals and African critters.

A keen cook, Val was an oracle around the kitchen campfire and never afraid to give her opinion on how she thought things should be cooked. She also spent time as Head Chef, but was benched when Paul saw her struggling with the duties.
