Something evil lurks in the shadows of the close-knit communities, idyllic Main Streets and rolling fields of America’s heartland. Paranormal investigator and documentary filmmaker Steve Shippy witnessed this darkness firsthand as a child growing up in rural Michigan. Now, with the help of local eyewitnesses and historical records, he’s made it his mission to solve these mysterious hauntings and bring resolution to the living and the dead. The first episode takes place in Merrill, Michigan, where an evil entity is tormenting a young girl. With the help of a local historian, Steve discovers the town’s long-forgotten traumatic past and its connection to the girl’s home.

In the new season of Ghost Adventures, paranormal investigators Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin return for more spine-chilling adventures, taking their fearless team to haunted destinations where they meet with locals, eyewitnesses, and experts before using the latest scientific gadgets and technology to uncover and document the truth behind the mysteries. This season, they investigate mysterious attacks inside a former casino with a shady past; explore a historic hotel plagued by dark spirits; and encounter aggressive spirits that roam a 130-year-old Woodbury estate in Altadena, CA – or as you may know, the home of American Horror Story.

Mondays from 5 October at 10:25pm

In The Holzer Files, a dedicated paranormal team – led by paranormal investigator Dave Schrader, psychic medium Cindy Kaza and equipment technician Shane Pittman – revisits the case files of America’s first ghost hunter, Hans Holzer, revealing the original recordings and documents from the paranormal pioneer’s renowned studies. With the help of Holzer’s daughter, Alexandra Holzer, and researcher Gabe Roth, the team picks up where Holzer left off to re-examine the terrifying hauntings that he dedicated his life to researching.

Recognised as the “father of the paranormal,” Hans Holzer’s legendary four-decade exploration into disturbing hauntings like the Amityville Horror house, helped spawn legions of supernatural enthusiasts, more than 120 books and even inspired Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis to write Ghostbusters. In each episode, the team will cull through thousands of Holzer’s recently discovered documents, letters, photographs and chilling audio and visual recordings dating back to the 1950s. Using his findings, team members track down recent developments from each haunting and head back to the location to reinvestigate with a fresh perspective, harnessing their own research, skills and expertise.

Tuesdays from 6 October at 10:25pm

In The Dead Files former NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi and psychic medium Amy Allan combine their unique and often conflicting skills to solve unexplained paranormal phenomena in haunted locations across America.

Utilising his detective skills, Steve interviews witnesses and experts, and researches the history and facts behind each location. Amy, a medium who sees and communicates with the dead, assesses the property to identify what underlying entities reside there. Keeping their findings hidden from each other, the team avoids all contact with one another – coming together only at the very end to reveal their shocking discoveries to the property owners, and each other. In the first episode, the duo investigates a historic home in New Orleans to help a family tortured by unexplained visions and bizarre occurrences. During her walk, Amy comes face-to-face with the apparition bearing a shocking secret to the horror that’s plagued residents for generations.

Throughout the new season, America’s most intense paranormal activity takes them to evil and historic locations, as well as personal homes inhabited by aggressive entities. In the first episode this season, the duo helps a single mother left home alone with two frightened children after terrifying, full-bodied apparitions drove away her family. Psychic medium Chip Coffey must figure out who – or what – is to blame?
