Tonight on TEN’s exciting reality series Australian Survivor: Champions Versus Contenders, a double elimination saw the Contenders lose two tribemates in one episode.

After an initial fiery reunion on Exile Beach, tribemates Anita and Management Consultant Tegan discovered they had both been victims of Entrepreneur Benji’s meddling and mended their friendship.

The pair went into their sudden-death challenge as friends but both determined to stay. Tegan took out the hard fought challenge which meant, after 21 days in the game, it was Anita’s time to leave.

On her departure, an emotional Anita said: “I’ve loved playing this game with all of you, you’re all champions and may the best man or woman win.”

For Tegan, it was an awkward return to the tribe who had blindsided her only a few days before. In a moment alone, Tegan told ally Heath that they need to up their game and stop playing nice.

At the Immunity Challenge, a test of speed was followed by a test of skill which saw Contenders Robbie and Zach go up against Jackie and Sam from the Champions. Previously, Zach and Robbie have been vocal about others not being able to “close” in challenges, however their failure to fire in their leg of the challenge resulted in a Champions win.

Back at the Contenders camp, Tegan exposed Benji as the reason she ended up on Exile Beach. He shirked off her accusations, however the confrontation left him feeling paranoid and he went to work on getting Tegan voted out again.

At Tribal Council, Benji was again exposed for lying but this moment was overshadowed by Zach’s stoush with the women of the tribe. In a heated discussion, Zach said he felt the lack of physical strength among the female Contenders was the reason the tribe kept losing challenges.

This attitude towards the ladies of his tribe was ultimately his downfall as they orchestrated a blindside vote against him, sending him home in a unanimous vote.

On his departure, Zach said: “This has been one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences which is why it’s a little bit heartbreaking that it’s coming to an end so soon.

“Now without me there to take down the Commando, to take down Brian, the other boys don’t get it done, so yeah I think they might be in a bit of trouble without me.”
