With just over 24 hours to reveal, the teams scrambled to finish enormous living, dining and terrace spaces. House 3 brought in Rosco’s dad Jim on minimum wage to help with cladding, sanding, and plaster, while Lisa chased homewares and styling. House 2 Chantle and Wyatt felt unusually behind, House 1 Adam and Jolene feel they are in a reasonable position with the rest of their flooring going down, House 5 Rick and Tayla pushed ahead with an outdoor sink, premium BBQ and Tayla’s slushie machine, and House 4 Courtney and Sev chose “quiet luxury” without a fireplace to protect a shrinking budget.
Weather, health and fairness became the episode’s pressure points. Rick was ordered off site after a knee infection left him needing antibiotics and rest, prompting Scott to call in British Paints’ Tim and Krissy to help Tayla paint. Courtney and Sev were sympathetic but frustrated, arguing that painting help cuts close to The Block’s number one rule.

Darren questioned the dining table orientation, and the terrace needed a bigger couch and ideally a BBQ, but the room felt meticulously planned and emotionally inviting. House 2 — Chantel and Wyatt: The judges found the space cold, empty and too vanilla for a multi-million-dollar home. Shaynna disliked the carnations and lack of sophistication, Marty said every lounge seat faced away from the view, and Darren argued the TV and layout should have been flipped. House 3 — Lisa and Rosco: Inside, the judges worried the dining zone was undersized and the furniture failed to maximise the view, but they responded strongly to the soft colour palette and fireplace. House 4 — Courtney and Sev: Their terrace was the day’s most successful outdoor layout, with the judges compelled to sit and take in the treetop outlook. Inside, however, the judges felt they wasted a rare ocean-facing opportunity by orienting the room around the television, and Shaynna said the shelving treatment lacked true luxury. House 5 — Rick and Tayla: The judges saw strong individual choices, fireplace, cabinetry, shelving, green couch, artwork, bar, BBQ and slushie machine but felt the layout squandered the scale and view. Darren was especially frustrated by the furniture orientation, while Marty acknowledged the terrace amenities as a clear point of difference. Budget estimate $25,000.00; cash spend $49,593.30.
When scores landed, Adam and Jolene won Week 5’s Living, Dining and Terrace reveal by one point and collected $10,000.00 from Chery, their first win and a badly needed cash boost. The episode closed with the promise of a Jackalope surprise the following night.
