Adam embraces the chaos as “Inso Man” but soon spirals from the itchiness and overthinks the floorplan until Dan tells him to reset.
Wyatt, left on site while Chantel is away, admits he is a novice — “all the gear, no idea” — and struggles through insulating. After failing two inspections for gaps, he calls it a “stitch up”, prompting Scott to shut the phrase down immediately and remind everyone The Block never sets contestants up to fail.
The competition intensifies when tiling legends the Cursio Bros, wanted by every team, choose to work in house 2 rather than contestants, raising the stakes for the house decider win. Meanwhile, Courtney and Sev commit to an ambitious peninsula-modernism design with timber ceiling detail, a custom headboard and micro cement finishes.
Lisa and Rosco are still weighing up which house they want, but after Rosco meets Ash Weston at Ray White, House 3 emerges as their preferred option thanks to its views and privacy and upstairs scale. That creates a potential swap drama, because Courtney and Sev currently hold House 3 while eyeing Lisa and Rosco’s House 4 — with Sev taking a sneaking photo of the plans left on the table by Lisa at Beacon Lighting.
Design plans also take shape elsewhere, Lisa and Rosco’s guest bedroom will feature an egg-shaped niche, textured DIY walls, beige carpet and Beacon lighting, while Courtney and Sev score a small win when Freedom agrees to adjust their wardrobe joinery to include a side power point.
Scott’s site tour exposes very different strategies. Adam and Jolene currently in House 1 are progressing with ply floors and insulation, currently House 2 Chantel and Wyatt are fully insulated, have flooring down and have just passed their third inspection. Rick and Tayla currently in House 5 are ahead until plasterwork must come down, House 4 have too many chippies for the room, prompting Scott to warn Lisa and Rosco to treat every dollar like their last. In House 3, Courtney and Sev admit they are blowing the budget to win the week, with Scott warning they are stitching themselves up by overspending so early.
It is the end of the day, and team’s must clear site by 6.00pm, and the pressure follows them back to the share house. While Chantel and Wyatt head to the gym, Jolene quietly worries she may not find her people and could be stuck navigating the competition with Adam
