FOX 8 will be the place to see the 2015 American Music Awards which air later this month.
Australia will be well represented when global pop sensations 5 Seconds of Summer perform at the world’s biggest fan-voted awards show, the American Music Awards
The American Music Awards will once again feature a star-studded line-up of the music industry’s top artists and performances, while celebrating 43 years of AMA history and memorable moments.
Show host Jennifer Lopez is also set to perform alongside One Direction, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato and Carrie Underwood. Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town will deliver “all-star” duets along with Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor
Nominations are based on sales, airplay and social media activity with fans selecting the winners by voting online. Awards will be given in the categories of Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM, Soundtrack, Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.
Taylor Swift holds the most nominations (6) followed by Ed Sheeran and The Weekend (5). They will all compete alongside rapper Nicky Minaj , teen queen Ariana Grande, rockers Maroon Five, chart topper Meghan Trainor, country crooner Luke Bryan, English soul singer Sam Smith and superstar boyband One Direction for the highly coveted Artist of the Year Award
Michael Jackson still holds the title for the most wins with a total of 24 awards, followed closely by Whitney Houston with 21 AMA’s
The 43rd American Music Awards will be broadcast live on FOX8 from 12.00pm on November 23 and again in primetime at 8.30pm. Channel V will air encore screenings of the awards the following day at 10.00am, 4.00pm and 8.00pm.
