Last week Stan released a new season of its acclaimed drama Ten Pound Poms.
When we left them at the end of season one, our poms were facing a raft of changes. Kate (Michelle Keegan) had kidnapped her son Michael from his adoptive family and gone on the run. Meanwhile Annie (Faye Marsay) and Terry (Warren Brown) were thrown for a loop when their daughter Pattie (Hattie Hook) gave birth to a baby and gotten engaged to Stevie (Declan Coyle), who would raise the baby with her as his own. And elsewhere, JJ (Stephen Curry) saved Sheila (Emma Hamilton) who tried to drown herself.
The second season picks up right where we left off, with Kate attempting to take Michael to New Zealand. Will Kate succeed in her long-held dream of raising her own child?
Elsewhere new arrival from Ireland, Ray Skinner (Sam Delich) steps in to help after an incident, and Peter (Finn Treacy) can’t help but notice Ray’s beautiful younger sister, Birdie (Clare Hughes). Is romance on the cards for the youngest Roberts?
And speaking of the Roberts family, Annie finds herself at a crossroads as she begins a quest to find herself outside of work and family commitments. Meanwhile, Benny Bates (Marcus Graham) makes Terry an offer he can’t refuse as he attempts to put down roots for his family. Will it help them be able to move on and escape the hostel for a better life?
Creator Danny Brocklehurst delves deeper in the characters we know and love by pushing the story forward with twists and turns. This is Keegan’s season to shine, alongside wonderful performances by Brown, Marsary, and new additions Maya Strange and Marcus Graham.
