Ten has a new Studio 10

Network Ten has announced the name of its new morning program – Studio 10 – and the winner of the competition to create the name.

The NameTheShow competition was won by Darren Sanders, who will collect the prize of a Samsung 60-inch Smart TV and Home Theatre System. Darren will also appear on the first episode of Studio 10.

The NameTheShow competition attracted about 4,000 entries via Twitter, www.ten.com.au and an unofficial website.

Studio 10 Executive Producer Rob McKnight said: “We promised to be different with our new morning television line-up and right from the get-go, we’re delivering on that promise by allowing our audience to name the show.

“The response to NameTheShow was overwhelming. There are a lot of clever people out there.

“We had so many great suggestions. Studio 10 works on so many levels, although I was almost tempted to go with Lady and The Tramp or Cuckoo’s Nest.”

Studio 10 will be broadcast live every weekday from Network Ten’s Sydney studios at Pyrmont. Featuring a unique in-the-round set and a live studio audience, the show will be hosted by media legend and Australian of the Year Ita Buttrose, media firebrand Joe Hildebrand, and two other panel members who will be revealed soon.

Studio 10 will debut later this year as part of Network Ten’s new morning line-up, which also includes the breakfast program Wake Up.
