Ten axes Early Morning and Late news and Wake Up

Ten axes Early Morning and Late news and Wake Up

it seems we no longer need to Wake Up early to get out news from Ten.

Channel Ten has confirmed that it’s breakfast program Wake Up will cease production on Friday. The ax has also fallen on  three of it’s news bulletins Early, Morning and Late which will also screen their final editions on Friday.

Ten has released  the following statement

Network Ten would like to thank the people involved with Wake Up and the TEN Early, Morning and Late News for their dedication, enthusiasm and hard work.

TEN Eyewitness News at 5pm will continue to be produced locally in each market. It will continue to have local news, sport and weather, local presenters, local reporters and local production staff, and will continue to bring the best of local, national and international news to viewers.

A voluntary redundancy program has commenced in Network Ten’s News and Operations department. No further details are available at this stage.

It is expected that 150 people will lose their jobs.

Wake Up hasn’t had an easy run since it launched last November with a number of behind the scenes changes taking place from a change in producers to the removal of a host.
