Succession Season 4 Review

Succession Season 4 Review

It’s been a long wait, but Succession is finally back for one last round of family drama in season 4.

Succession season 3 ended with the three main Roy siblings – Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) – teaming up to take down their father Logan (Brian Cox). Logan however, got the upper hand and cut them out of the deal to sell Waystar to Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) and Gojo, assisted by Shiv’s husband Tom (Matthew MacFayden).

When we return to the Roy family in season 4, some time has passed and Logan celebrated his birthday with eldest son Connor (Alan Ruck). The other three Roy siblings aren’t in attendance and are now working together on a new venture.

And that’s all I’m willing to divulge because this final season is definitely best viewed knowing very little about what to expect.

Heading into its final season, there’s a lot of interest in just how the series will wrap up. But the first episode, penned by show creator Jessie Armstrong, delivers excellent performances and plenty of nice surprises.

Relish in the fact that Succession is going out in beast mode at the top of its game.

5 Stars

Succession premieres today at 12:00 pm and 8:30pm AEDST on Fox Showcase, and Monday on Binge.
