For those needing a refresher on the format, aspiring Australian entrepreneurs step into the iconic Shark Tank to pitch their innovative ideas and seek investment from a panel of seasoned business mogul, known as the Sharks.
This season sees five new Sharks ready to put their own money on the line, including Sabri Suby, the confident founder of King Kong Digital Marketing Agency and author of ‘Sell Like Crazy’; Dr Catriona Wallace, an expert in the field of Artificial Intelligence and recognised as the most influential woman in business and entrepreneurship; Davie Fogarty, founder of Davie Group and ten consumer brands including the bestselling blanket hoodie, The Oodie; Jane Lu, the energetic and fiercely independent CEO of online fashion boutique Showpo; and Robert Herjavec, and seasoned Shark from Shark Tank US.
The first episode features five pitches, ranging from skincare to portable projectors to underwear, just to name a few.
Each Shark has different skills of expertise allowing them to ask those tough but necessary questions before investing. It’s here where Shark Tank excels at hooking the audience as the Sharks compete for the products they love.
Casting this season is great, and all the Sharks offer construction criticism and feedback to those vying for investment. There’s a lot to like about each of them, and it’s a breath of fresh air having an all-new Shark Tank panel.
