Today Stan unveiled its next original series in the form of Poker Face.

Today Stan unveiled its next original series in the form of Poker Face.

Poker Face is the story of Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne), who is working at Forest Casino and has the unusual skill of being able to tell when someone’s not telling the truth.

In the show’s opening hour, the rather chilled Charlie is tested by the death of friend Natalie (Dascha Polanco). Her determination to get the bottom of the murder will change everything.

It’s a case which will see Charlie hit the road to escape its aftermath, and that’s where the fun truly begins.

Poker Face reverts back to the murder mysteries of old, kicking off each episode by showing the crime being committed before revealing that Charlie had already been at that location at the time, meaning she’s already attached to the crime in some way.

Creator Rian Johnson pens the 65-minute pilot which sets the scene for a fun series ahead. Creating an episodic format allows each instalment to assemble a guest cast full of big names, from Adrien Brody as casino owner Sterling Frost Jr., Judith Light and S. Epatha Merkerson who reside in a retirement home, and Lil Rel Howery as barbeque tycoon Taffy Boyle, just to name a few glimpsed throughout the six episodes offered for review.

Poker Face is a fun series that promises murder, mayhem and fun.
