Channel 9 has acquired three grand heritage buildings from the Victorian Government, kickstarting a new future for Jacksons Hill in Sunbury, Victoria.
The historic site boasts some of the state’s oldest and most magnificent heritage architecture. The buildings were constructed 170 years ago in gold rush times as an industrial school, becoming a psychiatric hospital and most recently, a university campus.
Just 40 minutes northwest of Melbourne’s CBD, Sunbury is a historic community that captures a “little bit city, a little bit country” feel. Picturesque rolling hills, vineyards and its legacy as the birthplace of The Ashes give the area a distinct township charm.
Returning to co-host, Scott Cam and Shelley Craft will challenge five new teams to preserve and revitalise these landmark buildings while transforming them into The Block’s signature high-quality and aspirational family homes.
The Block: The House Next Door, premiering in 2027 on Stan will give Blockheads plenty to talk about when fan-favourite all-stars tackle a sixth renovation over the fence.
