New on Prime Video is the action original Neagley.
Frances Neagley (Maria Stern) is busy working cases and coming to the rescue whenever her military mentor, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), needs her.
So when her childhood friend Tommy (Jhaleil Swaby) is being farewelled, his parents are suspicious, as is Neagley.
As revealed in Reacher, she suffers from haphephobia, or touch aversion, so she mostly works alone. But this case quickly catches the attention of Detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt), who is trying to shake his family origins, Keno (Jasper Jones), a hustling street kid, and wannabe Junior P.I. Renee (Adeline Rudolph).
The quest quickly leads to cult leader Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman), whose true endgame is both disturbing and compelling television.
Co-showrunners Nick Santora, who oversees Reacher, and Nicholas Wootton delve into Neagley as a character, allowing Stern a great range to play across the first season. The expansion of the Reacher world with Neagley is a smart choice, and even though Neagley isn’t Reacher, there’s a lot of character exploration throughout the season.
A solid first season of a must-watch series for Reacher and crime drama fans.
