Tonight NCIS: Sydney asks some very complex question.
When a tragic accident puts a Lieutenant in a coma, his wife makes the impossible choice to donate his heart. But before it can complete its mission to save the life of dying recipient Jonah (Maua Fuifui), the heart is stolen enroute to surgery.
It’s a first for the NCIS Sydney team, with Mackey (Olivia Swann) and JD (Todd Lasance) soon discovering that the thief is respected surgeon Dr Lyle Wilcox (Jonny Pasvolsky). And the reason he’s gone rogue is desperate father Gary ‘Simmo’ Simms (Callan Mulvey), who is blackmailing him to perform an off-the-books transplant on his terminally ill daughter Violet (Adelaide Kennedy).
As Gary takes a whole hospital ward hostage, DeShawn (Sean Sagar) finds himself going undercover as a nurse, with Doc Roy (William McInnes) and Nia Bryson (Rebecca Gibney) helping him fake his medical credentials in the midst of surgery.
Lives hang in the balance, with both Violet and Jonah’s chances of survival dropping by the second, but can the NCIS Sydney team save the day before someone doesn’t make it out of the hospital alive?
Christene Bartlett delivers a surprising standalone instalment, with good performances from the entire guest cast, continuing a strong season of guest stars.
