Last night’s My Kitchen Rules found it’s first three finalists.
in the finals decider, teams went head-to-head over two rounds. The first round was the season’s first rapid cook-off with teams plating up their best street food dish. The second round, a show-down with teams presenting their best fine-dining meal.
All remaining six teams had 30 minutes to create their best sweet or savory street food dish. Will and Steve won the first challenge, impressing the judges with their twice-cooked chicken wings with peach chutney. With the win, Will and Steve also secured the advantage of choosing who would compete against who in the second round.
Steve and Will chose to compete against Eva and Debra. They matched Drasko and Bianca up against Ash and Camilla, and paired Jane and Emma with Jac and Shaz.
The strategy paid off for Will and Steve who defeated Eva and Debra with their dish of venison fillet with smoked leeks and mushroom sauce. Judge Pete Evans “loved” the venison, saying it “melted in the mouth.”
Despite being unsure of their fine-dining skills, Jac and Shaz’s eye fillet and Moreton Bay bugs with lemon caper sauce proved enough to get them over the line, sending Jane and Emma to Sunday night’s sudden death cook-off.
While its plating was criticized, Drasko and Bianca’s pearl perch with cauliflower and broad beans wowed the judges, leaving Ash and Camilla in second place and a spot in Sunday night’s 3 way cook-off.
Ash and Camilla, Eva and Debra and Jane and Emma will battle it out on Sunday night over three rounds. Two teams will progress to the finals and one team will be eliminated.
