Neighbours fans are in for another blast from the past as an old school neighbour makes a reappearance.
Continuing to try and get Clive (Geoff Paine) to herself, Sheila (Colette Mann) asks Des (Paul Keane) to keep Jane (Annie Jones) busy by setting up a meeting between the two of them and former Erinsborough resident Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden).
Most recently appearing in Annalise’s anniversary documentary in 2005, Melanie was last seen in Erinsborough in 1991 before departing with Joe and Sky Mangel. Of course, we’ve since learnt that Melanie and Joe went separate ways, but just what has she been up to since bidding Rasmay Street farewell all those year ago? That’s a question I’m leaving Melanie to answer for herself.
Long-time fans will be delighted by the little throwbacks and life updates that Melanie provides as she catches up with old friends in what can only be described as a spectacular reunion decades in the making.
It’s safe to say that, even thirty years later, Melanie is her usual talkative, no-filter self, and will not be holding back on her thoughts about her old friends.
With Jane now a regular character and Des popping back on a semi-regular basis, let’s hope this isn’t the last we see, or hear, of this 80s icon.
Neighbours airs 6:30pm weeknights on 10Peach.
