The power MasterChef Australia has to change the lives of its contestants is explored in the one-hour special MasterChef: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Food airing this week.
For the past eight years, MasterChef Australia has taken ordinary Australians with a food dream and given them a chance to learn, grow and become the best cooks they can be.
In this special television event ahead of the launch of season nine of MasterChef Australia at 7.30pm on Monday 1 May, favourite contestants return to share how the iconic cooking show has changed their lives and set them on the path of the food career they always wanted.
Catch-up with fan favourites Julie Goodwin, Poh Ling Yeow (both pictured left), Hayden Quinn, Adam Liaw, Justine Schofield, Andy Allen and many more as they share their journeys from cooking novices to household names.
After winning the first season of MasterChef Australia, Julie Goodwin has gone on to publish four cooking books, make regular media appearances and open her own cooking school on the Central Coast. Season three contestant Hayden Quinn now hosts his own cooking show Surfing The Menu, has authored four cooking books and become a partner in philanthropic wine label, Kook Wines. Justine Schofield is now the host of TEN’s weekday cooking show Everyday Gourmet and Andy Allen can be found at the helm of the popular Sydney restaurant Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery.
