ust as our merry band of celebrities were getting comfortable in their new jungle home, the moment they were all dreading finally came as we farewelled Samantha in our first elimination.
In camp we learned so much more about Samantha, including how a chance encounter at the shops led to her becoming a bride on MAFS, and her journey to learning her weight doesn’t equal her worth.
Samantha’s time in the jungle was in support of the Butterfly Foundation. “They provide support for eating disorders and body image issues because over 1.1 million Australians are living with an eating disorder. Less than a third of those receive treatment or support, me being one of them,” she said.
“Body dysmorphia is a real issue and talking about it doesn’t make you weak but brave,” Samantha said. “I want to share my experience so it can be a topic where people feel safe to discuss and be provided with support… Butterfly Foundation does this.”
