Last night Hell’s Kitchen farewelled a very diverse contestant.
In the final service of the week Gaz was quizzed by Issa during prep on his Geordie Shore escapades with the ladies’ man telling him “I never leave the club alone”. Issa’s retort was “My rule is to always leave the library alone”.
Service was a dramatic one as Sam Frost came off second best with the steamer oven, confirming her worst fears with a string of undercooked orders of John Dory.
Even though the blue team had a near flawless service, the reds were still deemed victorious and Willie Mason was sent to the Last Chance Cook Off.
The NRL legend was devastated. “I’m pissed off” he said to Marco, “I don’t feel like the weakest cook but I respect you and respect the rules”.
With Issa, David and now Willie in the Last Chance Cook Off, Marco revealed the dish for the Taste It, Make It challenge: meatballs.
At the beginning of the challenge Issa freezes in panic but with the help of fellow blue team member Willie, gets it together and manages to carry on virtually remaking his dish with a new combination of proteins with minutes to go.
When it comes to tasting, Marco reveals the ingredients: a mixture of pork and beef mince with white bread, eggs, onion and garlic. The balls were then fried and finished in the oven with parsley and manchego cheese.
Willie Mason was the clear winner of the challenge correctly identifying all ingredients and cooking methods. However, in a decision that surprised everyone, David Oldfield was dismissed ahead of Issa for using the incorrect protein and cooking method.
