Footy Show sets another Fight Night

Boxing legend Jeff Fenech has assembled another lineup of Australia’s finest boxers for the next instalment of The Footy Show Fight Night.

The Fight Night will be broadcast from Brisbane straight after play ends in the third Test between Australia and New Zealand

 Top-ranked light heavyweight Trent Broadhurst will headline the night of fights as he faces off against hard-hitting Rob Powdrill for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Light Heavyweight title.

Returning to The Footy Show Fight Night main card are Jai Opetaia and Randall Ray. Opetaia, the boom southpaw, is out to continue his winning way as a professional when he takes on the man who went the distance with Paul Gallen in January.

 Adding to the showcase, two Australian titles will be on the line as undefeated contender Rocky Jerkic challenges veteran Shannon King for the Australian Super Welterweight crown and undefeated Miles Zalewski defends his Australian Lightweight title against Darragh Foley on the undercard.

The NRL Footy Show’s Erin Molan will host the night, joined in expert commentary by leading broadcaster and sportscaller Ray Hadley, former WBA World Super Middleweight and IBO World Middleweight Champion Anthony “The Man” Mundine, and former IBF World Featherweight and IBO Super Featherweight Champion Billy “The Kid” Dib.

 Renee Gartner will join The Footy Show Fight Night team from Brisbane. Sport runs through Gartner’s blood – she grew up on rugby league fields as the daughter of Australian representative Russel Gartner, who played for Manly, Balmain and Easts. She has forged a flourishing media career as well as stepping into the ring herself as an amateur boxer. Gartner’s sporting pedigree and boxing prowess will shine through in interviews with all the main fighters on the night. .

 Ebullient Footy Show Fight Night ring announcer Mark Warren returns with blow-by-blow commentary of the undercard.
