Fan-Favourites Wed in Neighbours’ 35th Anniversary Episode

It’s a cause for celebration today as Neighbours turns 35, dishing up another unmissable instalment.

Preparations are underway for Mark (Scott McGregor) and Paige’s (Olympia Valance) wedding, and Paige is thrilled when Jack (Andrew Morley) arrives with Gabe (Kian Bafekrpour). However, despite Aaron’s (Matt Wilson) reassurances, Mark is worried that, once again, something will go wrong – his track record with engagements and weddings isn’t great, and it’s weighing on his mind.

As the honeymoon boxes loom large in the background, it seems Mark might be right. Will his end go off with a bang? Given we know Finn’s (Rob Mills) bomb intended for Lucy switch boxes, there’s definitely cause for concern…

Channeling Mrs Mangel, Jane (Annie Jones) naturally let spills Sky’s (Steph McIntosh) secret that she’s planning on marrying blast from the past Lana Crawford (Bridget Neval). But things are complicated because she hasn’t had the chance to tell Dylan (Damien Bodie) yet, and now everyone knows but him.

With wedding fever in the air at the expo, Jane is feeling as lonely as ever. Little does she know that Paul (Stefan Dennis) scheming to reunite her with her former love Des Clarke (Paule Keane), who arrives tonight exactly 35 years since we first met him. How will Jane react to seeing her ex-fiancé?

Meanwhile, over on the island, Finn has sent away the water taxi that was meant for Toadie (Ryan Moloney), and returns to camp to tell everyone that Toadie has gone back to Erinsborough as intended.

It’s Elly’s (Jodi Anasta) 35th birthday and the group has organised a special celebration, but Elly feels like something is missing with Bea (Bonnie Anderson) having apparently returned home, though we all know where she really is.

Trying to find the main camp, Harlow (Jemma Donovan) is lost in the bush, coming across a sight she didn’t expect. Will she make it to the others?

And finally, after calling off his wedding last night, Gary (Damien Richardson) arrives on the island, joining the rest of the campers. Will this be the chance for Kyle (Chris Milligan) and Gary to reconcile? And with Prue (Denis van Outen) also on her way to the island, could the couple work things out?

The episode does a good job of marking such a key milestone, with more throwbacks to the past, and the addition of Endgame allows the show to move stories forward.

Neighbours airs 6:30 weeknights on 10 Peach
