New on Disney+ is the second season of its breakout comedy English Teacher.

English Teacher follows Evan Marquez (Brian Jordan Alvarez), a gay teacher at a Texas public high school who cares about his students. However, this often leads to conflict with his Principal, Grant Moretti (Enrico Colantoni).

This season, Evan tackles many issues, from his students wanting to do a musical about COVID, the fact that he may have been a diversity hire, and helping his kids fill out college applications.

But it’s not just Evan, we also follow best friend and fellow teacher Gwen (Stephanie Koenig), PE teacher Markie (Sean Patton), counsellor Rick (Carmen Christopher), and Evan’s boyfriend Malcolm (Jordan Firstman).

Full of humour, the ten 30-minute episodes expand on a near perfect first season, filled with topical issues balanced with brilliant comedy.

A delightful watch, English Teacher remains one of FX’s strongest comedies that shouldn’t be missed.
