Emily Weir pulls four 10s while Matt Preston pulls out of Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With The Stars was rocked by a shock walkout, a cancelled dance-off and a perfect score tonight on Channel 7

Home and Away’s Emily Weir hit a new high with her emotional contemporary dance, receiving a standing ovation and a perfect score from the judges. The deeply personal dance, inspired by Emily overcoming her demons, was described by judge Craig Revel Horwood as “Fab-u-lous” while Todd McKenney simply told Emily “I’m going to let my paddle do the talking.”

Paulini lived out her princess dream with a Beauty and the Beast inspired performance, receiving 30 points from the judges. Mark Wilson revealed he was impressed by the “delicate movement and elegance” of the dance.

Issa Shultz thrived playing Danny Zuko for his Jive to Grease Lightning, with the audience loving his performance so much that even the judges couldn’t resist joining in.

Comedian Mary Coustas found her edge with her Samba,

James Magnussen impressed the judges with a slow-motion lift in his Cha Cha.

Gavin Wanganeen landed at the bottom of the leaderboard with his punk-inspired Tango scoring 20 points with the judges noting it was an improvement on his first dance. 

Matt Preston’s ill-fated Paso Doble scored only six points out of a possible 40, with Craig declaring he had seen ‘tombstones with more movement.”

Food critic Matt Preston made the surprise decision to leave the competition after his ankle injury prevented him from performing in the dance-off, after landing in the bottom two alongside AFL legend Gavin Wanganeen.
