Rumours out today that axed-by-Nine US-soapie Days of Our Lives could be bought by a rival commercial television network have surfaced, with both Seven and TEN denying any deal.
TV Tonight today reports that Sony, the distributor for the long-running daytime serial, is looking for a new home for the show and Foxtel has already claimed it will not be airing on subscription television because a commercial broadcaster has already bought the show.
“The distributor of Days of our Lives has informed Foxtel the series has been sold to another commercial network. It will not be screening on Foxtel.” a Foxtel spokesperson told TV Tonight.
Sony declined to comment on the matters.
Days of Our Lives ended its 45-year history with Nine last Friday. It, obviously, still runs in the US.
