CHAD POWERS - Eight years after an unforgivable mistake nukes his promising college football career, hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers - a talented oddball who walks on to the struggling South Georgia Catfish. This week Disney+ unveiled the highly-anticipated new series Chad Powers.

Chad Powers tells the story of quarterback Russ Holliday (Glen Powell), who has the perfect life until he loses a championship, punches a fan, and injures a young wheelchair-bound cancer patient. Going viral in the worst possible way, Russ soon finds himself no longer popular or well-liked.

Eight years later, after another opportunity gets taken away from him, Russ gets the idea to steal his dad’s prosthetics, moving to Georgia, and passing himself off as the opposite of everything Russ is.

And thus, Chad Powers is created.

However, this new persona poses some complications for team bonding, given that getting wet will reveal his true identity. As he navigates this new life, Russ/Chad develops a relationship with the harried and hardworking head coach Jake Hudson (Steve Zahn), and his daughter and assistant coach Ricky (Perry Mattfeld).

By the final episode, it’s hard not to love the series, created by Michael Wheldon and star Glen Powell. In classic Powell fashion, he shines in centre stage.

Chad Powers is now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes every week until October 28.
