Casey Donovan crowned Queen of the Jungle

Australia has voted Casey Donovan as their Queen of the Jungle in the  Grand Finale of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.

Over the past six weeks, Australia has fallen in love with Casey as she threw herself into all elements of jungle life. She formed strong friendships with all her peers and was a cherished member of camp.

The ARIA Award-winning singer brought much-needed music and laughter to the camp, entertaining her fellow campmates with original songs, fun ditties and a beautiful rendition of John Farnham’s hit Burn For You.

During her time in the jungle, Casey took part in 12 Tucker Trials, with the most memorable being Shoot For The Stars alongside Carson Kressley and Kris Smith.

The trio joined forces to play the ultimate game of bungee basketball. The all-star team were flung into the air in a reverse bungee rig, while lobbing a basketball into a giant bucket.

With hits and misses, the jungle globetrotters scored six stars, but most notably Casey conquered her fears and demonstrated the personal growth she has experienced on her jungle journey.

AFL legend Dane Swan was voted by Australia as runner up in tonight’s extravagant Grand Finale and pop diva Natalie Bassingthwaighte took third place earlier in the evening.

One of the AFL’s biggest characters, Dane was hard to rattle in the jungle, unfazed by the creepy crawlies, African delicacies and terrifying Tucker Trials. Although quiet and relaxed, Dane opened up to the camp on several occasions about his personal life, career highs and lows, and his brush with the law.

Nat’s fun loving nature and infectious laugh were a breath of fresh air in the camp and while she struggled being separated from her family, the mother of two provided endless advice and support to her fellow campmates, in particular, Lisa Curry.

After an emotional 24 hours, Dane and Nat were ecstatic for Casey to take the crown and win $100,000 for her chosen charity, Starlight Children’s Foundation.
