Amazon has announced that season one of the highly anticipated action-packed thriller, Treadstone, will be coming exclusively to Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories outside of the U.S. in 2020. From producers of the “Bourne” franchise, the series explores the origin story and present-day actions of Operation Treadstone, the infamous, covert CIA Black Ops program that uses behaviour modification to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. All episodes of the first season will come to Prime Video in January 2020.
Season one of the series will follow sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions. Prime Video unveiled the first teaser for the series today, which sets the stage for the international thriller.
“The ‘Bourne’ films are popular with our customers around the world and it’s exciting to see the franchise move to television with Treadstone,” said Brad Beale, Vice President of World Wide Content Licensing for Prime Video. “Prime members love shows with action and intrigue like Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and our latest anti-super hero hit The Boys and we know that Treadstone will be another great addition to Prime Video in 2020.”
Produced by UCP, Treadstone is developed by and executive produced by Tim Kring (“Heroes”). Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner (“Bourne” franchise) executive produce. The series stars Jeremy Irvine, Tracy Ifeachor, Omar Metwally, Brian J. Smith, Hyo Joo Han, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Emilia Schüle and Michelle Forbes.
Treadstone will be available internationally on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories in 2020 and will premiere in the U.S. on 15 October on USA Network.
