Showtime Renews The Affair

The Affair isn’t over just yet with a fourth season having been announced.

The series’ trademark formula will remain with episodes told through different viewpoints and will continue to explore different points of view and how two people – even those in a close relationship – are never on the same page.

The show has evolved from the first season, when it explored the impact of Noah (Dominic West) and Allison’s (Ruth Wilson) affair on their marriages, their families, and their lives. Season 3 picked up three years after Noah’s (Dominic West) shocking admission of guilt at his murder trial and introduced a fifth perspective in Irene Jacob’s Juliette Le Gall, as well as new character Gunther played by Brendan Fraser.

Noah attempted to restart his life, but the damage wrought by his past decisions has made him a ghost of his former self. Alison has been raising daughter Joanie alongside Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno) in Montauk, but Alison’s past continues to rear its ugly head as Cole and Luisa attempt to build their own future.

For Helen (Maura Tierney), life appears to continue on, but just below the surface of a successful business and a bustling home lies uncertainty with her boyfriend Vik, instability among her children, and an unshakeable feeling of guilt.

The Affair – Season 3 is screening on Foxtel Tuesdays at 8.30pm and Season 4 will also be broadcast exclusively on Foxtel upon its release.
