Lachlan Kennedy joins Ten News in Queensland

Lachlan Kennedy will join  Georgina Lewis on Ten Eyewitness News as a co anchor  early next month it has been announced.

Lachlan has covered some of the biggest local and international news stories since he became part of the TEN Eyewitness News First At Five team as a reporter in 2010. In 2013 he was promoted to the TEN US Bureau as correspondent, where he reported on various stories, including the murder of Australian student Chris Lane in Oklahoma, the Washington Navy Yard shooting, The Masters among others. Since returning to Australia, Lachlan has travelled to Gallipoli to report on the 100th Anniversary of the ANZAC landings and to Nepal to cover the devastating earthquake.

“I’m very excited about this wonderful opportunity to join Georgina and the Brisbane news team. Moving to a vibrant and growing city, where I have lots of family, is definitely a bonus. “As a young journo reporting local news in Canberra, I could never have imagined the countries and places I’d work in, the people I’d meet and the stories I’d have the privilege to cover – from the splendour of the White House and bright lights of Hollywood, to the horror of the Nepal quake.” Lachlan said

His Co Host Georgina Lewis said: “Lachlan is a respected reporter and presenter, with a wealth of national and international experience. I am looking forward to sharing the TEN Eyewitness News First At Five desk with him.”

TEN News Director, John Choueifate, said: “TEN’s news is going from strength to strength and I am delighted Lachlan will be playing a key role in the resurgence. Georgina and Lachlan are both fine journalists and will make for a great team.”

Lachlan takes up the role from Monday September 7.
