Uel and Shannelle say farewell to My Kitchen Rules

Last Night saw My Kitchen Rules say farewell to yet another team.

It was the battle of loved-up couples as New South Wales newlyweds Uel and Shannelle bowed out of the competition in Tuesday night’s sudden death cook-off.

The married couple served up an entrée of cereal prawns, a main of beef short ribs with daikon, carrot puree and soya beans, followed by a dessert of steamed lemon grass and kaffir lime crème brulee. Their menu scored them a very respectable 43/60

Uel and Shannelle’s dishes had often been criticised for being too sweet.and last night was no exception with Liz Egan noting their entrée of cereal prawns tasted more like a third course rather than a first: “I feel like we’ve skipped to dessert because it’s sweet and weirdly it has prawns.

The couple’s main of beef short ribs with daikon, carrot puree and soya beans was also deemed too sweet with Manu saying: “The short ribs were fantastic. Your sauce could have been sensational, but again it was too sweet.”

Uel and Shannelle regained some ground with their dessert of steamed lemon grass and kaffir lime crème brulee winning praise from Manu. “It’s a perfect crème brulee. It’s not overly sweet. It’s simple, done well.”

“Our experience on MKR has been a crazy whirlwind,” said Shannelle on having to leave the competition. “Lots and lots of fun, no regrets.”
We made some really great friends. Some more like family than friends,” added Uel. “Hand and hand we came into this competition and hand in hand we leave.”

Josh and Danielle scored scored 45 out of 60, the highest sudden death cook-off score in the series.

My Kitchen Rules airs Sundays at 6.30pm and Mondays to Wednesdays at 7:30pm on Seven.
