Tonight the Travel Guides head to Croatia
Our Travel Guides are cruising the coast of Croatia on a yacht. Island hopping through a land of medieval history and Insta-worthy scenery, they experience a week of natural beauty and cultural quirks.
Before they board their yacht in Dubrovnik, our guides explore this 11th century city on foot. But this is no ordinary walking tour, as the filming location for Game of Thrones, re-enactments of some famous scenes is almost compulsory.
Sailing away from Dubrovnik, our guides settle into yacht life. Docking on the popular island of Korcula, they get a little too close and personal to the ancient art of sword dancing and find out how the locals have lived for centuries.
In a country that is proud of its self-sufficiency, our guides visit a traditional farm for some grape picking and more drinking … but are caught unawares by the donkey milking, getting up close to a donkey udder brings a new meaning to ‘a kick in the ass’.
Back on board their premium yacht, they’re sailing further up the coast to Sibenik and the famous natural wonder of Kirka National Park with its 17 pristine waterfalls. After a quick freshwater drink and a sunbake, our guides storm the 500 year old St Nicholas fortress.
On the next island, Rab, our guides experience some of the clearest water in the world and the modern art of becoming a mermaid. Then they’re ready for a sunset captain’s dinner and the very best seafood the Croatian coast can offer.
Disembarking in the resort town of Opatija, our guides are ready for their final tastes of Croatia and to rate their island hopping cruise out of 5 stars.
