The NBA Returns to ESPN in July

The NBA returns to ESPN Australia New Zealand on July 31 with a blockbuster schedule of live matches later this month.

After the NBA season was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans have had to wait patiently as the league cautiously planned its return. And now the NBA is back, and it’s back in a big way.

Fans will be treated to multiple NBA games every day from July 31 –  August 14, with 32 live matches on ESPN across the first 14 days of the schedule, including 10 double headers and four triple headers.

Further play-in matches will then be scheduled if required.

The season will resume from ESPN’s Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, with the packed game schedule meaning Australian and New Zealand fans will be treated to the best NBA matchups at fan friendly viewing times. Viewers will be able to start their day with the best basketball action in the world.

The season resumption begins with a blockbuster double header on July 31 AEST beginning at 8am AEST with the New Orleans Pelicans meeting the Utah Jazz, before the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers tip off at 11am AEST.

“It’s great to have the NBA back on our screens and we’re excited at the programming we’re able to provide our viewers from July 31 on ESPN,” ESPN ANZ General Manager Haydn Arndt said.

“With NBA games every day, our fans can look forward to a full schedule of action on ESPN, and with most games broadcast from 8.30am AEST onwards, ESPN viewers will not miss a minute of the NBA.”
