Next week, Foxtel and Binge bring out a freshly baked season of The Great Australian Bake Off.
Season seven of The Great Australian Bake Off sees 12 diverse amateur baking enthusiasts put through a series of challenges over 10 weeks, trying to impresses judges Rachel Khoo, global culinary icon, and Darren Perchese, Australia’s King of Pastry. Each episode contains three themed baking challenges – Signature, Technical, and Showstopper – culminating in one contestant named Star Baker and another eliminated, until one is crowed Australia’s Best Amateur Baker.
This season’s bakers are a vibrant and diverse group, and includes Adrian Barila, a 23-year-old theatre performer who weaves his Italian heritage into his creations; Jayden Briggs, a proud Gunai Kurnai and Yorta Yorta man mastering bush tucker with native ingredients; and Laurina Bowlen, a 36-year-old 50s dress designer renowned for her jaw-dropping sculptured fondant cakes.
As the contestants aim to win the title, over the 10 weeks our diverse home-baking enthusiasts go through a series of mouth-watering challenges which will test their skills and creativity as they tackle delicious desserts, cakes, biscuits, breads and pastries to name a few
Hosted by Natalie Tran and the late Cal Wilson, who appears in four episodes with her family’s blessing, the duo offer some fun amongst the spectacular food, with Darren and Rachel putting the bakers through their paces and offering helpful advice along the way.
Based on the first two episode screened for this review, The Great Australian Bake Off is just as delightful and spectacular as its previous seasons and will leave you craving of taste of these delicious creations.
