The Bachelor walks out as drama unfolds

The fallout from the last cocktail party left the house divided and the drama continued on  The Bachelor Australia last night.

While the Bachelorettes were sitting around the mansion post rose ceremony, Osher popped in to tell the ladies Matt was breaking them out and getting them away from it all.

Jumping in the car the following morning, Abbie continued to talk about her pashfest with Matt to the other ladies, oblivious to their mounting frustration.

Arriving at their destination on the Central Coast, Osher magically appeared again with a date card. With Abbie’s name read out, the green-eyed monster in Monique visibly rose to the surface.

Keen to find out if there was more than just a physical attraction, Matt and Abbie headed to an orchard to make their own cocktails. But first, they had to juice the fruit. With their feet. Without washing them first.

Thankfully, that was just a rouse to get up close and personal and the real juice was already in bottles that we’re assured were squeaky clean.

While Matt and Abbie were forging a stronger connection, the other Bachelorettes were talking about the cocktail party kiss. Monique was very vocal about her feelings. She felt that Matt had been disrespectful to not only herself but the other ladies in the mansion.

Back on the date, Matt and Abbie snuggled up on a couch and Abbie opened up about the family struggles that shaped her into the person she is today.

The date then led to a dip in the pool where Abbie admitted that many of the girls were unhappy with their kiss at the cocktail party. Abbie revealed to Matt that Monique had strong feelings about the incident and called Matt a “disrespectful pig” among other derogatory names.

Taking the time to pull aside the ladies who weren’t associated with the drama, Matt requested a truth session for him to get to know them a little better. There, usually shy Chelsie surprised Matt with her vulnerability, and Matt chose to spend some one-on-one time with her.

Chelsie, giggling like a school girl, got to know Matt a lot better, completely nerding out. Needless to say, there was chemistry between them, and he presented her with a rose and a kiss on the cheek.

Back at the resort, Helena was invited on a single date with a card that read “I know you’ve been patient, now the world is our oyster”.

Rocking up, the date began with the pair creating a pearl. Helena and Matt laughed as they made a string of comments that sparked a lot of sexual innuendo. It was then onto a picnic where Bach Matt pulled out all the stops and gifted Helena with a pair of pearl earrings and a necklace, together with a kiss on the cheek and a rose.

At the cocktail party, Abbie shocked the other Bachelorettes by telling them she had told Matt about what Monique had said.

Making a beeline for Abbie on arrival to the cocktail party, Matt let Abbie know he planned to confront Monique as her comments were impacting his ability to find love.

To close the matter once and for all, Matt then sat Monique and Abbie down to get to the bottom of the issue. In a classic “he said, she said” situation, the conversation went around in circles, with Matt forcing the other Bachelorettes to weigh in to find out the truth.

At the rose ceremony, with Abbie, Chelsie and Helena already holding roses, Matt decided that Monique deserved a second chance and Julia left without a rose.
