When US sailor Nate Holbrook (Tom Wilson) is shot dead in Chinatown, the team soon discover that he was the subject of a popular true crime podcast, accused of murdering his Australian girlfriend and her parents at Thanksgiving dinner. Did a podcast superfan take justice into their own hands?
Meanwhile, Deshawn (Sean Sagar) and Evie (Tuuli Narkle) trawl Sydney’s gun clubs for the murder weapon, leaving Mackey (Olivia Swann) and JD (Todd Lasance) to speak with podcaster Lucinda Wainright (Jane Harber). When Lucinda invites them onto the podcast, it’s clear a career change isn’t on the horizon, but the appearance helps put them on the trail of the killer and the key to both murder cases.
Will there be justice, not only for Nate’s death, but that of the Marsh family?
