Last night Survivor had an interesting hour ahead.

After Vavau blindsided Barry in last night’s Tribal Council, Sam and Conner were left to fight another day. Realising they were still outsiders at Vavau, the boys vowed to stick together and take advantage of any cracks in the alliance of Craig, Jennah-Louise, Sue and Kate.

Kate discovered a large lump under her arm and a doctor visited Vavau to assess her health. The lump was identified as an infected abscess, with the potential to force Kate out of the game. After an extremely painful procedure to drain the abscess, Kate was sent back to the beach, worried about her future in the competition.

At Saanapu, new tribe members Nick and Tegan took a different approach. Nick focused on being as helpful as he could around camp while Tegan worked on her friendships with the other girls.

Up for grabs in tonight’s Reward Challenge was a delicious burger banquet, with the tribes more determined than ever to bring home a win. After a difficult challenge, Saanapu and Vavau celebrated their victories with a feast and an instant morale boost.

Despite their best efforts, Aganoa lost another challenge and felt lower than ever. Single dad Lee was brought to tears as his thoughts turned to his sons back at home.

At tonight’s Immunity Challenge, the members of each tribe took turns holding a rope that suspended a tribe member above the water. With Saanapu struggling from the start, it was no surprise when they were the first to drop the rope, sending them to Tribal Council.

After their loss, the castaways at Saanapu quickly got to work, strategising ahead of their next elimination.

The girls agreed to eliminate scheming Nick, as they felt he could not be trusted. Matt was quick to remind them that Saanapu needed physical strength at the challenges and eliminating Nick could mean losing future challenges.

Nick suggested a strategy to eliminate Kylie and her Immunity Idol in one fell swoop. But if Kylie decided to use her Idol, Tegan would become the casualty.

At Tribal Council, Kylie made the difficult decision to use her Immunity Idol, meaning any votes against her would become invalid.

With two votes each for Nick and Tegan, the entire tribe had to revote. Tegan received the most votes, making her the sixth person voted out from Australian Survivor.

Leaving the jungle, Tegan said: “I had so much more left in me. I think I could be a little bit more aggressive if I was to go at it again, and maybe be a little bit more vocal with forming alliances myself, rather than sitting back and waiting for things to happen for me.”
