10 has unleased a brand new season of Survivor, but this time there’s an exciting theme.

This season of Survivor will see Australia take on The World, where Aussie fan-favourites will take on some of the franchise’s most iconic players from the USA, Quebec, New Zealand, South Africa, and Finland.

In any Survivor cast of returning players, you want a mix of lovable fan favourites and those with scores to settle from past island adventures. And that’s exactly what we’ve got with this returning batch of players.

For Australia, Shonee returns for her fourth shot at the title, having clocked the greatest number of days playing Survivor. Having previously played alongside fellow returnee King George, who left her blindsided during their last island adventure, she is out for revenge. Meanwhile George is eyeing the title after coming so close to winning. Then there’s The Golden God and winner of Australian Survivor All Stars, David Geneat whois back for a third go at the game, joined by lovable larrikin Luke. Rounding out the Aussies is business mogul Janine, tactical game player Kirby, and the sneaky Sarah.

The World tribe is made up of Queen Parvati from the US, who was given the nickname ‘The Black Widow’ for playing the game four times and taking home the crown once. Also from the USA is Cirie, a legend of the game known for her social and strategic game play, and Tony, one of the only two players to win the game twice.

From across the ditch there’s Lisa, a librarian from New Zealand who defied the odds during her season where she walked away with the crown. Also from the Southern Hemisphere is South Africa’s Rob, who also took out the title after an immunity streak and strong social game. From Finland is Tommi, a radio presenter and journalist who played an analytical strategic game, only to lose the final Tribal Council by one vote. And finally fellow runner-up Kass, a competitive and challenge beast from Quebec.

Over 16 days, they will take part in challenges that can change the game. There’s Immunity Challenges where they will play for their safety from being voted out at the next Tribal Council, and then there’s Reward Challenges where they will compete for luxuries, like food and camping essentials.

Jonathan LaPaglia’s swan song is Survivor on steroids, and a short 10-epiosde season means the game is on from the beginning with alliances and blindsides from the get-go.

4 Stars

Survivor Australia v The World airs 7:00pm Sunday and 7:30pm Monday and Tuesday on 10.
