Stan today released the trailer for the second season of the hit Stan Original Series The Assassin, written by award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams (Stan Original The Tourist) and produced by Two Brothers Pictures (Stan Original The Tourist, Fleabag). Fans only have a month to wait until the estranged mother-and-son duo return to take on the criminal underworld, this time with new enemies in tow,
The new trailer sees hitwoman Julie (Keeley Hawes) and Edward (Freddie Highmore) reluctantly team up once again when Edward’s dream honeymoon with Kayla (Shalom Brune-Franklin) is hijacked by a mysterious new threat. Plunged back into a world of international crime, kidnapping, and high-speed car chases, they’ll have to take down Spain’s corrupt underworld to survive the job and repair an already fragile relationship—and hopefully not kill each other first.
Returning cast Keeley Hawes (Scoop, Miss Austen, The Bodyguard), Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel), and Australian’s Shalom Brune-Franklin (Stan Original The Tourist, Baby Reindeer) and Devon Terrell (It’s What’s Inside, Barry) will be joined by Arnaud Binard (Emily in Paris), Natalia Tena (Harry Potter franchise, Game of Thrones), Boris Van Severen (Baptiste, Moresnet), Jacqueline Boatswain (After The Flood, Bridgerton), Monic Hendrickx (Penoza, Arcadia), Karl-El Santos (Stags, Yo Adicto), Mehdi Regragui (La Unidad Kabul, Los constructores de la Alhambra), Casimiro Aguza (Sin Lìmites, In From The Cold), Tony Corvillo (Nowhere, Mano de Hierro), Amin Hamada (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Mallorca Confidencial), and Lolo Herrero (El 47, Return to Las Sabinas).
The second season of The Assassin is a Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media company) production for Stan in Australia, Prime Video in the UK, and ZDF in Germany, in association with All3Media International.
Award-winning duo Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing, Fleabag, Stan Original The Tourist) serve as Executive Producers, alongside Sarah Hammond (Fleabag, Back to Life), Alex Mercer (Doctor Who, Inside Man), and Daisy Mount (Wilderness, The Rig) for Two Brothers Pictures. Lead stars Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore also executive produce. John Griffin (Shameless, Skins) is producer with Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Killing Eve) – who also serves as an executive producer – directing episodes 1-3 and Sarah O’Gorman (The Witcher, The Last Kingdom) directing episodes 4-6. Jessica Mescall (Rivals, Secret Service) serves as casting director. Filming on series 2 took place in Malta.
The new season of the Stan Original The Assassin will premiere November 6, all episodes at once, only on Stan.
