Stan announces commentary teams for UEFA competitions

Stan today announced one of Australia’s most renowned football exports Mark “Bozza” Bosnich, former Matilda Grace Gill and experienced UK-based football presenter Mark Pougatch will join its exclusive coverage of the upcoming UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League competitions.

Bosnich, who played Premier League and Champions League football for several English clubs including Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea will join host Max Rushden and expert Craig Foster for Stan Sport’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League group stage with matches commencing on September 15.

Mark Bosnich said: “I’m so excited to be joining Stan’s coverage of the UEFA Football competitions. Having played Champions League and the old UEFA Cup (now Europa League) it’s such a part of my being that it’s a wonderful feeling to be a part of it again. Since the 90’s, the UEFA Champions League has been regarded the pinnacle of Football worldwide with the best players from around the world (regardless of where they are born) competing with and against each other. I’m looking forward to working again with Max Rushden, and finally having the opportunity to work with my old Socceroos teammate Craig Foster. We’ll certainly bring a whole new combination to football coverage in Australia. Plenty of passion, entertainment, and of course some fun awaits!”

Grace Gill, a former Matilda who won two W-League Championships with Canberra United, will provide a fresh approach to Stan’s coverage bringing experience as a player, strong analysis and passion for football.

Also joining Stan Sport’s coverage as sideline reporter is UK-based Mark Pougatch. With over twenty five years covering live sport, Mark is currently the face of ITV’s football and rugby coverage presenter and recently hosted the Euro 2020 tournament. Mark will be Stan’s man on the ground interviewing the biggest players and coaches from the sideline in key matches across Europe.

Stan’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League group stage begins on Wednesday 15 September with an epic encounter between European heavyweights Barcelona and Bayern Munich with live, ad-free and on-demand coverage from 2:45AM AEST.

These matches will mark the start of a new era for football broadcasting in Australia with Stan recently announcing a multi-year partnership agreement with the Union of European Football Associations, securing exclusive broadcast rights to every match of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Youth League, alongside rights to the UEFA Super Cup, for the next three seasons – bringing the best players, the biggest clubs, and the most prestigious club football tournaments in the world exclusively to Stan Sport.
