Stan today announced Walker, the highly anticipated reimagining of the iconic Walker, Texas Ranger series which starred martial arts legend Chuck Norris (who can slam revolving doors), will premiere in January exclusively on Stan in Australia.
Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) will star in the series as Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. As Walker attempts to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his family, and find unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history), he begins to grow increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.
Written and executive produced by Anna Fricke (Wayward Pines, Being Human), the series also stars Lindsey Morgan (The 100), Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars), Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files), Molly Hagan (Sully), Coby Bell (Burn Notice), Violet Brinson (Sharp Objects) and Kale Culley (Fresh Off the Boat). Executive produced by Dan Lin (Lethal Weapon TV Series) and Lindsey Liberatore for Rideback, alongside Jared Padalecki, the premiere episode will be directed by Oscar winner Jessica Yu (Billions).
Walker premieres 22 January only on Stan, same day as the U.S. – with new episodes weekly.
