Tonight 10 unveils its new format with Shaun Micallef’s Parent’s Evening, but is it worth tuning in?
Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening is a cross-generational experiment, with famous Australians teaming up with their less-known parent or child. The challenge: the parent’s must guess who many correct answers their grown-up child will know. It’s a hilarious battle for boasting rights, plus a load of cash for their chosen charity.
After being presented with a topic, the parent must predict how many questions their child answers correctly. If the prediction is right, the team wins money for their charity. If the prediction is wrong, the money is split by the other two teams.
Topics can range from animal silhouettes and famous movie quotes, to poker hands and chocolate brands. In the final round, the winning team has the chance to double their winnings for their charity.
In the opening episode, veteran journalist Ray Martin and daughter Jenna take on comedian and radio host Joel Creasey and his mum Jenny, along with reality TV star Callum Hole and his dad Phil.
As always, Shaun Micallef is a fun host and keeps things moving while his son Gabe gets to be time keeper assistant and score keeper, showing his inherited comedic timing.
Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening is a fun hour of television with laughs aplenty.
