Revealed: Death Cap Murders Review

It’s the case that’s gripped the nation and Stan is the first to give it the true crime doco treatment with Revealed: Death Cap Murders.

Of course, the death cap is referring to the three deaths that were the result of a beef wellington luncheon in 2023 at the hands of Erin Patterson, the trial of which had the nation gripped to the news earlier this year.

A three-part documentary, part one of Revealed: Death Cap Murders goes right back to the beginning of the saga with that fateful lunch through to Patterson’s charging by Victoria Police.

Featuring interviews with Korumburra locals, former workmates and friends of Patterson, and journalists – mainly second-on-the-ground newly-hired The Age crime reporter Marta Pascual Juanola and colleague John Silvester. Through these interviews, we get an insight into Patterson’s past and how those around her saw her before and after the luncheon.

Revealed: Death Cap Murders pulls together the early parts of the case in a compelling way and gives an insight into one of Australia’s most fascinating crimes.

4 Stars
