Out of Her Mind comes to BBC First

BBC First will screen a new drama Out of Her Mind this week.

Sara Pascoe
(The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Twenty Twelve), Juliet Stevenson (Bend It Like Beckham, Truly Madly Deeply) and Fiona Button (The Split, Lip Service) star in Out of Her Mind, ahilarious, quirky and compelling comedy that tackles love, relationships and the contemporary human experience in the 21st century.

Out Of Her Mind is written by the award-winning comedian, Sara Pascoe, regular panelists on comedy programs Qi, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Would I Lie To You. This series subverts the traditional sitcom format by combining eccentric characters, animation, and scientific explanation as it explores heartbreak, family and how to survive them.

Sara plays a version of herself – an intelligent woman with the moodiness of an adolescent and the dress sense of a 6-year-old. The show is set in the wonderland of her younger sister’s wedding preparations. Sara doesn’t know why everyone else in the world is pairing up and having babies, as the only sane person she is determined to prove that romantic love is just chemicals and conditioning.

As well as following Sara’s outer life, Out Of Her Mind explores the inner workings of Sara’s psyche. Sara addresses the audience and presents the results of her subjective research into each episode’s subject matter.

Cast includes Cariad Lloyd (Crims, Peep Show), Adrian Edmondson (Summer Of Rockets, The Young Ones), Navin Chowdhry (Doctor Foster) and Sean Gilder (Poldark, The Last Kingdom).

BBC FIRST WILL AIR DOUBLE EPISODES OF OUT OF HER MIND FROM FRIDAY, MARCH 12 AT 8.30PM.
